    HANGING BRIDGE

            This horizontal structure joins barangay Bato and Poblacion and extends from the back part of the Mabinay Nat’l High School forest. It is around 60 meters long, built so people from both barangays can easy cross Namangyan River, saving their fare for a motorcycle ride as they go to Poblacion or vice versa for some transactions or simply to purchase their family needs in the market. At the same time, passers may enjoy the view on top as the bridge swings up or sideways as one walks through it.  It has a simple, yet, captivating structure. This was first devised by the earliest Mabinayons and was able to withstand winds and other environmental stresses for years.

            Getting there. This is just few steps away from Mabinay Nat’l High School and Mabinay Central School. Exercise your legs as you walk under shady trees to reach the hanging bridge.

    MABINAY WATERFALLLS

            Mabinay is blessed with the abundance of water supply. Towering cascades or low they gush from verdant well-springs singly or in multiple veils, splashing over rock tiers or plunging unimpeded into basins for the dauntless swimmer. Trek through scenic landscapes for a breathtaking encounter with majestic waterfalls like Bugsok Falls in barangay Banban, Niludhan Falls, practically situated in between Mabinay and Bayawan, and Mabinay Falls visible at the back of Mabinay Central School near the Hanging Bridge. Water that pour forth in this comes from Mabinay Spring.

            Getting there. These waterfalls can be reached via single motorcycles or ‘habal-habal’ few minutes away from the center of the Municipality. A 4 to 5 meter walk nearing the falls adds to the excitement of the onlookers. 





    ILOG RIVER
            Experience an unforgettable excitement and thrill in rafting and kayaking in Ilog River which also connects Oriental and Occidental. This can be reached passing thru brgy. Banban or Manlingay. Kayakers may enjoy sitting in a small canvas-covered canoe as they propel themselves with double-bladed paddles, navigating in fast moving water.

            Getting there. This can be reached via single motorcycle or a private vehicle from Poblacion to brgy. Banban or Manlingay.

MABINAY NATURAL SPRING

            This natural bounty is located at Tadlong, Mabinay Negros Oriental. It is situated near the Mabinay Central School and Taring’s Cottages in Poblacion. This resembles a giant swimming pool, boasting with its crystal-clear and icy-cool waters. Its natural habitat remained untouched for centuries. Local folks consider this as their greatest treasure, a gift from nature, with its unlimited water supply even on a long dry spell. It’s a very typical hideaway for nature lovers, campers and motorists to drive thru, taking a stretch from a long drive, under shades of towering centuries old native trees, sprawling the perimeters of this natural spring.

            Getting there. This spring is about 700 meters away from the town’s public market and can be reached via tricycle from the bus terminal and or public market.
